چکیده

Objects and object complexes in 3D, as well those 2D, have many possible representations. Among them skeletal representations special advantages some limitations. For the form of representation called “s-reps,” these include strong suitability for representing slabular populations statistical applications on populations. Accomplishing is best if one recognizes that s-reps live a curved shape space. Here we will lay out definition s-reps, their limitations, mathematical properties, methods fitting to single- multi-object boundaries, measuring statistics representations, examples such involving statistics. While basic theory, ideas, programs are described this paper while with evaluations been produced, there remain interesting open opportunities research comparisons other new areas application further methodological developments, which explicitly discussed here.
